A friend of mine, Stephena, asked me for a post like this. Like me, she was looking for fashion/wardrobe advice for college. In Jamaica, we wear uniforms all the way up to high school (whether it’s a public or private school). Because of this, the transition to wearing casual clothes every day in college can be hard for some people.
I watched loads of YouTube videos, read blog posts, and scoured Pinterest for inspiration. I found a lot of great tips and outfits, but for the sake of simplicity and affordability, I’ve chosen the most practical tips for a Jamaican college student.
The start of the academic year is creeping upon us. For incoming freshmen like me, that calls for preparation in more than one way, e.g figuring out what on earth to bring/buy for your dorm. I won’t be living in a dorm this year, but I’ll be living in a dorm-like situation. As such, I’ll share my top 10 college dorm essentials. I hope you find it helpful. 😉
If you’re like me – fresh out of high school and set to start college in a couple of months – then this post is for you. The summer before college is not just a normal summer. The fact that I’m going to start university in less than two months makes me both excited and anxious. On one hand, I’m ready for a new adventure and environment, and on the other, I’m (slightly) terrified of the adjustments I’ll need to make!
For some reason, I feel this summer will be my last real summer. Because of my programme choice, a summer holiday is a luxury I’ll be given only once (the summer after freshman year). As such, I feel the need to maximise my time and do as many fun things as I possibly can before the reality kicks in at the beginning of the school semester.
